Williamsburg, Day 2

The ferry ran very late so we missed connecting with our group. Instead we started the day hanging out with Mr Jefferson while he was scratching out some document about the importance of independence.

Then we listened to Mr Henry share some interesting facts

Well, Jake slept, but the rest of us were completely enthralled...ok, I'm the only one who thought it was cool

Big brothers are the best, arent' they? Ella loves having rabbit ears in every picture. Loves it.

Picture of Blackbeard the Pirate on the mantle. He was killed but his men were held in the jail at Williamsburg while awaiting trial.

Hank deciding if he would try to escape while wearing handcuffs and leg shackles

Trying to provoke the oxen into attacking. They look very ferocious, don't they?
The oxen, not the kids.

We ate lunch at one of the taverns which cost us a mortgage payment. But the kids enjoyed it and I was starving. We moved at a much slower pace and by 4:30 we were done. After being gone for nearly a week, I was very happy to be home. Not so happy to do the mountain of laundry that awaited me, but very happy to be in my own bed.

Many thanks to Todd, Amber and Trey for letting us invade their house. We appreciate it!!
