Where does the time go??

I can't believe a week has gone by already. I'm feeling like a hamster on a wheel lately...lots of spinning and little progress.

I'm in the midst of making 5 costumes for our upcoming Medieval Feast for school. Since I possess only the most basic sewing skills, it's taking a lot of time. I'm resurrecting these costumes and making repairs and alterations which is also time consuming. I'm grateful though that this time I have a sewing machine. The original costumes were made with Stitch Witchery. Crazy, I know.

My grown up dinner went really well and was tons of fun. Not fun...shopping for clothes. I bought an outift and hated spending that much money on something I'll wear only occasionally so I called a friend of mine who has waaaay more fashion sense than I will ever have, and she loaned me the perfect outfit...with shoes and jewelry. Score! The clerk gave me a funny look when I returned the outfit I bought because I told her I'd much rather spend the money on running clothes. I guess some people just don't get it, do they? [And I forgot to take a picture!!! I flat-ironed my hair and wore makeup and I forgot to take a picture??? sigh...]

And finally, because I like to laugh at myself more than the average person...I'll share with you the crazy looking picture that the triathlon sent me. You may remember that the premium was an engraved frame and that I'm supposed to print this picture and proudly display it in my home [or carry it in my purse as I casually mention to strangers that I just did a triathlon]....

Invariably I look like Eleanor Roosevelt in photos. In this one, I look like Eleanor might have looked after a few too many drinks. It's the cross I must bear...though it would be nice to be at least half as intelligent as she was.

Oh and it's raining...again
[it was raining when I first wrote this; I had trouble getting the photo to load so I had to wait until Friday afternoon to post...and it is not currently raining at this moment, but I'm sure it will start again any minute now]
