TOS Review Kinderbach Music Lessons

Being on the TOS Crew definitely has its perks. Every year music lessons is on the list of things we'd love for the kids to do, but something else always comes up. Enter the Crew; we received a 3 month subscription to Kinderbach, an online piano program for kids ages 2-7.

Using Kinderbach your child will learn music vocabulary, note reading, rhythm, physical technique, ‘do, re mi’ singing, listening skills and music composition plus the joy in making music. KinderBach breaks down the various tasks and techniques of playing the keyboard and separates them into child portions. For example: Before playing a song, rhythm, note identification, note placement, and music patterns are presented as different items through discussion and games. Learning is gradual and child-paced. In addition KinderBach uses fun characters to teach ideas, making the process entertaining.

I decided to have Ella use this program since she's definitely the most musical member of the family, and she really enjoyed it. This is marketed as a product for 2-7 year olds, but I think it's probably better suited for the lower half of that range. Ella has loved Kinderbach, but she zipped through the lessons pretty quickly. She was often able to do a week's worth in one sitting.

The plus side of this is that to teach Kinderbach, you don't need to have a musical background. All you do need is a computer and a piano or keyboard. If you have a desktop and a piano, you're a bit limited unless they're in the same room. ;)

Another bonus is that your child isn't staring at the computer the entire lesson. There are activity books with coloring pages and other kinesthetic activities to accompany the lessons.

If you're on the fence regarding the benefits of music lessons, read this article. Most people agree that kids who receive music lessons see benefits in other areas of study such as math.

Still not sure... Kinderbach offers a free two week trial so you can try before you buy.

A one year subscription is $95.88 if paid in one payment or $19.99 per month paid in 12 payments. You can also purchase a pass for $5.95 for a single day. A subscription is for your entire family not per student.
If you prefer, you can purchase a DVD for each level for only $40.45. The DVDs include the lessons and PDF activity pages as well as an audio CD with performance & demonstration tracks - literally piano 'karaoke' so your child can play along with the band!
KinderBach has a No-Hassle Return Policy for DVDs & CDs as well as a satisfaction goal for web members. All Products carry a 30 day Money Back Guarantee. Additionally, the disks have a lifetime replacement should any be damaged or broken for any reason.

*I was given this product for free so that I may use it and give my honest opinion of it. No other compensation was received.
