Theodore Roosevelt Island

I'm really happy we were able to stop and visit this memorial. I've driven by it so many times but usually when I'm on my way somewhere so I couldn't stop. It's right off the parkway and there's plenty of free parking. You walk over a bridge to a little island and then walk through the woods to what they call memorial plaza.

There's a big statue of TR and 4 large tablets with some of his more famous quotes on youth, manhood, government, and nature. There are trails around the island but we didn't go on any except the one to the plaza.
