We did have one craft that turned out pretty darn cool if we say ourselves, or I say so on our behalf.
I've wanted to try using natural dyes for Easter eggs the last couple of years but never got around to it. This year I happened to have all the stuff we'd need plus a few extra minutes so Ella and I got our crafty on!
I looked on Pinterest and found a Pin for recipes [which I copied and pasted into a Word doc to print so I don't remember where I got it.] and off we went.
In a nutshell you simmer different veggies, fruit peels or spices in water for about 15 minutes, add ~2-3 tsp of vinegar, dunk your eggs and leave them overnight. Easy peasy!

We used:
Red Cabbage = dark purpley/blue - very pretty
Paprika = dark orange - very exotic
Red Onion peels = light orange
Carrot tops = very, very light yellow - no workey with brown or green eggs
Blueberries = light bluish grayish - recipe said to leave them intact which did nothing so we mashed them with a fork and got cool color dots where the eggs were resting on them
Dill seed = baby poo brownish/yellowish
pretty, no?
We had about 7 dozen eggs - our hens have been busy! - so we colored a lot of them.
It was a fun, easy craft so I think we'll add it to our Easter repertoire for next year.

Very cool! Beautiful colors too. Vie been meaning to try that but forgot all about it this year. We have the standard issue PAAS colors here.
