Fairies in the Garden

While on vacation to Broomes Island, we took some time to visit AnnMarie Gardens. Driving down I saw signs that said something about Fairies and Garden but never caught the whole thing. Once we arrived at AnnMarie, we got the scoop.

They have a special exhibit in their outdoor sculpture garden right now...Fairy and Gnome houses. How fun is that! Members of the garden made fairy and gnome houses...some really simple and some really elaborate... which were then placed here and there around the garden.

We received a flyer that listed all the houses (but not their locations) and then we walked around the garden looking for them. The path was about a quarter mile long, shaded and paved so it was a nice relaxing walk.

As an added bonus, they had a dress up trunk so the kids could borrow fun costumes to wear while searching for the houses. Shane wanted to be a gnome and the other two opted not to dress up.

The kids thought this sign was hilarious for some reason

If you look closely, centered above the house is a crow that had picked all the shiney decorations off this fairy house. I got really close to take a picture of him, and he didn't fly away so he must have been very determined to get his treasures!

This is the coolest thing ever. Numerous trees had paintings on them where branches had been cut or had broken off. Makes me wish I had a molecule of artistic talent!

One of our favorite houses

Ella's favorite because it's a My Little Pony house

If you're in the area and have an opportunity to check out Fairies in the Garden, we highly recommend it. Very fun!

OH WOW!! That is so cool. That painting through the bark is amazing. Yeah, I wish I had an ounce of artistic talent myself.
