This is the second year we've gone to our friend Ruby's house to make leprechaun traps. The kids have been so excited and looking forward to it for weeks. I'm so bummed because I forgot my camera. The kids were so cute covering their boxes with foil and decorating them with stickers (so the leprechaun would want to go into the trap). Then we munched green snacks like grapes, kiwi and crunchy peas.
When we got home we made leprechaun hats to wear while we set our traps. We didn't want the leprechauns to suspect that we're trying to catch them. I told the kids to pose like leprechauns and this is what they came up with.
Getting ready to set their traps in the front yard
Crabby boy showed up and decided he wanted his picture taken
Here's Ella checking under her box this morning (the 18th). The leprechaun got away but left a note for each kid and a few coins from his pot of gold. The boys flipped their boxes over too fast for me to get a good picture.

Then we had corned beef and cabbage and watched Darby O'Gill and the Little People- while wearing our hats, of course.
I hope you had a great St Patrick's Day and didn't get pinched by a leprechaun!
