FIAR Lapbook for Owl Moon

Owl Moon is a fun book to read while sitting around the fire and sipping hot chocolate, and it's another favorite of mine.

Below is the cover for the lapbook. If you look closely, you'll see that Ella's owl is wearing earrings and a necklace. The stars that were supposed to be in the sky are decorating the owl's feathers, and her toenails are painted purple. Clearly, this is no ordinary owl...or perhaps my girl is no ordinary girl. :)

I snipped little limbs off our Christmas tree for the owl to sit on.

Inside the kids pasted the life cycle of a bird in the correct order and then did a simple maze of different animal tracks.
Then they read about the different parts of a bird and identified the parts that people share with birds as well as the parts that we don't share.
Each mom in the K/1 class planned 1 quarter (9 weeks) and that's my last lapbook for this class for this year.
I'm sure I'll create a lapbook or two for the 2nd/3rd class I help teach so be sure to check back and see what we're doing.
