TOS Review Tektoma Game Tutorial

Tektoma was founded earlier this year by Tom Marx and Matilda O'Connor, to provide video tutorials that teach children game programming. The founders are owners of a summer camp - Bits, Bytes & Bots Computer Adventures –for kids interested in computers and technology.

They have been teaching kids how to program their own computer games for a combined 9 years, and they believe that children need the opportunity to learn programming because it also teaches logic, creative problem solving, algebra and geometry.

What Tektoma offers:

SAFETY: Be assured that offering a SAFE learning environment is a top priority at Tektoma. All materials, projects and forums are moderated for appropriate content, language and graphics that are suitable for even young children. Come explore Tektoma’s online video tutorials and inspire your tech imagination!

CONTENT: Though Tektoma is a new site, we’ve been successfully teaching children how to program their own computer games since 2003. Each year children as young as 7 years of age attend our summer camp programs (see Bits, Bytes & Bots to learn more about that program, as well). We know what works and how to get & keep a child’s attention.

UPDATES: New technology oriented tutorials are added each month!

MEMBER’S ONLY FORUM: Use the Private and Secure MEMBER’S ONLY FORUM to post questions and requests for future lessons. The Forum is moderated, meaning all posts are reviewed by Tektoma for compliance of content before being posted, to make sure they are relevant to the site and safe to share with all ages. Additionally, Tektoma staff regularly respond to postings to help you with your questions.

A Tektoma subscription is only $14.95 per month or $140 per year. This gives you access to all the tutorials as well as online help via the forums.

Tektoma offers a free 14-day trial so you can try before you buy. And you can earn free membership time by referring your friends; when they become paying members, you get 15 days free, and there is no limit to the number of referral credits you can earn.

If you have a student eager to learn programming, you should check out Tektoma to see if it will work for your family.
