Vacation Bible School

The Baptist church down the street from us had a Vacation Bible School a few weeks ago. Talk about a sweet deal for mom and dad.

It (1) was free, (2) included kids baby to teen, (3) was funner than all get out, (4) ended the week with a pot luck dinner and carnival! They were totally accommodating about Shane's allergies too.

The final night they had a little program where the kids got up class by class and sang a little song they learned during the week. Here's Hank letting us know he sings in a minute.

Jake took these pictures. I had to run home and get Shane's snack bag so Imissed Ella's song. :(
Her class made crowns the night before and she was sure they needed to wear them on stage. So cute.

Click to enlarge this one. Hank is 3rd from the left in his white bathing suit. Dancing to was is apparently his own little song.
Here he is trying really hard to stand straight and still. Great job for a 6 y/o boy!
After the program they had a moonbound obstacle course. Hank blazed through lightening quick. Ella enjoyed the bouncing along the way. They also had a little laser tag course. It was like a moonbounce house. They got little vests and guns, went inside and blasted each other. Fun times

During the week, Shane's toddler class would go down to the gym and just bounce in the obstacle course. Sooooo when I lined him up to race Hank, I went to the finish line and waited...and waited. 2 big boys came blasting out the finish line and I freaked just a little. My baby was somewhere in the obstacle course, perhaps crushed to mush by these two huge monsters that just blazed by. No it was nothing nearly as dramatic as that. He was happily dodging kids and bouncing away.

Champions! For the big kids they had a water slide that ended in a little pool. Ella and Shane saw the little pool and wanted to swim. I told them they had to go down the slide first. So they walked down the slide and then jumped into the pool. They were *very* disappointed to find they had to jump right out of the pool and go get back in line. Definitely more fun for the big kids

I think this church has VBS every year. We'll definitely encorporate it into our schedule for the future.
