Building a mall, um mosque

We're doing Tapestry of Grace this year for homeschool and week 3 is about the intro of Islam into the world. One of the activities it suggests is making a mosque. Not only are they architecturally beautiful, but the model serves as a nice reminder to pray for Muslims as well as Christians in Muslim countries.

Hank keeps calling it a mall which cracks me up for some reason. He mispronounces a lot of words which I find adorable. So anyway Hank built one out of blocks, sans the dome since we're fresh out of wooden domes.

Then we started on the paper mache version. We'll paint and decorate this one in the coming week. Ella "Don't get me dirty" Machen actually helped with the dome and then declared the process awky and left to wash her hands - and not return. Such a girlie girl.
