We love listening to radio programs on Saturday morning, and one of our favorites is 'Down Gilead Land' which is a production of CBH Ministries (Children's Bible Hour). We also love when Uncle Charlie is on the radio reading stories. You can imagine how excited we were to receive the latest product from CBH, the Seasons of Faith book series.
These books are based on original CBH scripts that have been updated and revised. They are paper back books on a nice weight paper. The illustrations are colorful and very nicely done, and each book includes a read-along CD narrated by Uncle Charlie. You can read the story of how these books came about by clicking here.
Ella and Hank have really enjoyed these books. We have used them during our circle time taking turns each day being the 'page turner.' What I love is that at the end of each book a clear presentation of the Gospel with Scripture references. And of course Uncle Charlie reading the story is a wonderful bonus.
So why are they called 'Seasons of Faith'? Very simply because each book focuses on a season in a Christian's spiritual life.
Spring: This is the time when people experience new life in Christ. Faith develops and Christians begin to share the Salvation message with others. [Race with Midnight]
Summer: This is the time when faith grows under God's love and care. Fruit is witnessed and triumphs are gained through applying His Word and striving to be the best we can be in Christ. [You Can't Come In]
Autumn: This is the time of struggle, temptation, peer pressure, and mistakes. Even though it might seem like nothing good can come from this time, God has promised that He will be there. He will teach us how to forgive and then grown in grace. [Seventy Times Seven]
Winter: This is the time when life is most difficult. Deep struggles, mourning, trying to make it through difficult times, or the death of a loved one can pull us away from God. He teaches us to lean on Him for comfort and peace. [Braving the Storm]
Currently the plan is to release four new titles each year. We can't wait to see what the next books will be!
